In order to cater for refurbished B&B facilities, this project involved the total removal of the rear elevation and replacement using steel and glass to open up views and bring natural light into the building. Re-figure the internal layout. This was a challenging project as the mill stands over the water. This project included the use of renewable energy.
Itteringham Mill has been shortlisted for the regional finals of the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Awards on 30 April 2010. Visit www.labc-eastanglia.org/nominationssustainable.html for more information.

The four year transformation of this busy Holt café with flats above and cottages at the rear into an upmarket B & B, dining and retail complex has been a challenging but very rewarding project for us, earning R J Bacon and the owners many awards.
The 17th Century Grade II Listed building, outbuildings and flats above were converted throughout using sympathetic reclaim materials along with modern soundproofing and quality building products. Exposed oak beams, brick and flint work and a green oak frame were added to continue the original Byfords theme throughout the development. Bathrooms with quality fittings, travertine tiles with marble and under floor heating were incorporated to each B & B room with the client adding Bang and Oulson TV and sound systems.
As this building is open to the public it is easy for prospective clients to have a look at our workmanship.
Working again for First Choice Developments to convert this nursing home in to 11 contemporary holiday homes. The main structure of the building is in good condition due to the last conversion of the property in 1998 with many of the original features lost.
The works include totally stripping out the internal of the property to divide the buildings where possible at the natural external divisions. Completion of the main building, The Vicarage is now complete, providing a 4 bedroom luxury home.
Quality materials were used throughout, with limestone floors to entrance hall and kitchen. The majority of the work throughout the project is new with minor repairs to the existing fabric.
